Furniture rarely gets damaged on the highway. It gets damaged in doorways, on stairs, and when two pieces rub together in the back of a truck. That's why we wrap everything before it leaves the room.
Moving blankets are the first layer. They're thick, padded, and protect finished wood, glass tops, and corners from dents and scratches. We cover the whole piece, not just the front.
Shrink wrap goes over the blanket. It holds the blanket in place so it can't slip off halfway down the stairs, keeps drawers and doors from swinging open, and keeps upholstery clean and dry. On sofas and mattresses, shrink wrap alone protects fabric from dirt and rain.
Once everything is wrapped, we load the truck in tight tiers and strap each one, so nothing slides when the truck brakes. It takes a few extra minutes on each piece, and it's the reason your furniture arrives looking the way it did when it left.
